Yippi's WORLD CUP VIEW

Had been catching the world cup for the past 11 days....that means watching till 5am almost everyday and then waking up at 3 pm the nest day... Round 2 juz ended last night with Ukarine recording a 4-0 victory against Saudi and Spain coming back from a goal down to win 3-1 with Torres scoring a brace against Tunisia.

There's some shockers and disappointments in WC2K6... Opening match itself is a stunner with hometown germany with a 4-2 victory over Costa rica... Enteraining and exciting 6-goal match. Here's my summary after Round 2 ..

Shockers
1. Definitely ECUADOR ....From their 2 matches so far, they look like one of the team in the last 8..
2-0 against poland was a stunner although i predicted Ecuador to win...how can the poles score?? haha following that with a 3-0 victory over costa ricans.. I bet they can kick germans arse tonight.. They'll qualify as Grp A winners =)

2. GHANA ...though they lost to Italy 2-0, They're still a strong team as they played well but juz can't get a goal.. Czech were expected to win Ghana after their 3-0 victory against USA but they lost 2-0 and could lost more if not for Petr Cech's heroics...

3. Koreans ...yeah i know they got to the last 4 in 2002 but that's like at their home ground... i tot asians team wun perform so well but they prove me wrong... Against Togo trailing by a goal, they came back with 2 fantastic strikes to win it... Wonderful koreans tied up ex-world champs France with abit of luck =)

Disappointments

1. BRAZIL ....though they got maximum points from 2 matches but they were juz so dull...The only bright spots were kaka and maybe robinho ...with ronaldo, adriano, Ronaldinho ,Kaka, Robinho and Juninho, all they could do is winning 1-0 and 2-0 against Croatia and Australia with unconvincing performance... hope they really show some samba magic soon!!! Ronaldinho had been super disappointing... i expect alot from the world player of the year...

2. England ...Juz wtf is england doing? first match won with an own goal and 2nd match have to wait till 83rd min before they can score(and i suspect that goal was a foul by Peter Crouch) against Trinidad & Tobago ....WTF.....Owen kanna sub in 55 mins for both matches... Wtf is Sven thinking? Crouch can partner Rooney better? And without Rooney England is juz a sub-par team?? WTF man...Prove me wrong england Prove me wrong tonight pls!!!

3. France... Wat's Henry doing? I tot he's suppose to be able to score alot of goals or create for others? 0-0 and 1-1 tells it all...against who? Swiss and Koreans... 3 players came back to play for france and they could be out by the next match.... Ex-champ? LOUSY ...

Goal of the tourament so far : Frings (GER) that 30 yard curler against Costa Ricans

Tevez(ARG) He did a maradona OLE-ing 2 poor defenders before calmly finishing with a well placed shot.

Great individual performance: Messi(ARG) came on as a sub and finishing with a goal and an assist ... Tevez(ARG) read above ...

yep.... i've become an ARG fan......they had a chance at the title this year....... bring on messi and tevez to the starting lineup man...

Another thing is with the Jerseys.....Nike's Jersey for this WC is simple and kinda dull..i still prepare 4 years ago the Korea's and Brazil's jersey...Adidas also kinda sux this year except for ARGENTINA's away jersey.....wat's with Puma and the tight fit?? dun they know that it SUCKED?
